Berkley Skatepark

Cruised up to SF last weekend to meet up with some friends and was able to sneak away for about an hour to roll around the berkley skatepark. I was pretty pumped when i got there because I hadn't been to this type of park in a really long time. Everything is so plaza'd out in socal. The park was pretty enjoyable overall and I feel like I'd be down to get down there quite frequently if I lived in the general area. The concrete was rough (normal skatepark status) so once your skin touches it, it leaves your body and stay there forever. Overall I would rate this park as a good time.

this view pretty much shows the park. there is a bowl on the back end, but who cares about that right?

great nipple for speed pumps

perfect hips. that bank i was heading toward was pretty perfect too

what makes a skatepark complete? an orange cone to launch over. (probably my favorite part)
vertical pic? come on man!
adios,

SOLVANG

My sincerest apologies. This post is long overdue.

passed through the quaint and delightful little town of Solvang, CA last July (if you haven't been you should check it out, its kind of a trip. like you left the country and are in switzerland. not really but kinda) Anyway, Solvang has a rad little park in a super dope location. (see below) This park had a totally wacky layout and i could see some of you jabronies getting real creative and awesome here. (maybe we should trip up there?!) It had a kind of terraced street section that was kind of short and fast, and a pretty different bowl section that even i was able to enjoy briefly. The best thing about the park though was the location. It was down in this little gully, covered by trees and next to a river. a perfect spot for a picnic and a kickflip. A+ for this park because why not?

entrance gates to the park
overview. street on the left, bowl on the right (as it should always be)
rolling in on that big bump on the far right was maybe the funnest thing there
another pano shot. thanks to my personal photographer

who doesn't want to spend a buttload of time here?

until next time dear friends,

Alameda Skatepark - Alameda, CA - March 2015

As the sun began it's descent on the docks, we couldn't help but attempt to regain tricks from a time forgotten by some, but relished by others. Let me take a step backwards and explain who I meant by the collective 'we'. The 'we' I referred to was regarding locals of the Alameda skatepark. They were hucking fatties to flatties, flyouts, and other things youngsters do when flinging meat is involved.

The immediate and personal 'we' (Neal and myself) were doing nothing of the sort. However, we did enjoy a sunset and the feeling of what it might be like to travel back in time to when we would consider tossing our carcasses in an Xtreme way.
