I decided to venture outside of my normal 3 lunch parks and check out a new one today. Lafayette skate plaza is this mellow little plaza in west downtown. kinda by k-town. It was a fun park to cruise around and it seemed like a great place to go skate if you wanted to take it easy and be mellow. That aspect of it slightly reminded me of cherry, except that i like this more than cherry because there is a mellow 3 stair, the ledges have a bit more character, and not every single person there is trying to passively show you all of their cool tricks. I would be super hyped if this was where cherry is and i could casually skate it like i do cherry (pretty sure you all know how i feel about that place). I'm sure i'm one of the few that would hold such an opinion, but whatever.
It was a fun park, doubt i'll go back regularly because it was kind of a crappy drive through downtown from my work to get there. its always a good time to check out new places though, and i am pumped that my "close enough to work to be skateable during lunch" number of skateparks went up by 1.

this dude effed up my panoramic shot from the top of the stairs |

when you're done skating you just throw your shoes on the electric line for next time. or something like that... |
I hope this wasn't too painful to read/look at,
